Some hackers have created their own WOW server which users can log into for free. Not only that, but they've tweaked the settings so that you get more XP and level up quicker than on Blizzard's server. The downside is not many players are currently using it...but the price is right. Info here.

Perfect timing - I cancelled my Warcraft subscription last week as I wasn;t playing it. But if it's free....
I already signed up to the free version and have my first character - Spudwarf!
